I love the idea of words floating in the sky, kinda like ideas, ready to be grabbed, soaked, breathed in, then exhaled into the world.

Thank you much for your kind words and for reading. It is kind of reassuring or light to think of them that way -- and accessible.

If I can come up with a four-letter word, I’m pretty stoked. Boat. Mire. Boat. Skip. Boat.

This is great as poetry. I'm glad it wasn't another writer's lament.

Jimmy, a poem a great idea. I don’t think I’ve written a poem since HS but let me play around with this. I think. It has imagery, tension, and cadence.

As for lament -- not my gig.

What you wrote is very poetic. Reread it. It's impressively poetic.

Not that I'm accusing you of writer's laments but Substack has thousands of them.

The words were not coming easily today, Ben but read this and it gave me the encouragement to push on through so appreciated the timing 👍🏼😁

I like words too, and can occasionally make pretty ones come out of my brain. Most of the time, I'm focused on ideas first, but sometimes the poetry leads the way. Language is a powerful thing, and a weird one at that.
